Description: In 2021, the Canada Coast Guard (CCG) and Fisheries and Oceans Canada updated its administrative boundaries following the creation a new Arctic region. There are now 4 administrative regions in CCG (Western, Arctic, Central and Atlantic). DFO and Coast Guard Arctic Regions developed these regions in partnership with the people they serve; this important decision will lead to stronger programs and services to better meet the unique needs of our Arctic communities. DFO and CCG operations and research cover Canada's land and waters to the international boundaries (EEZ) and are in no way limited to the boundaries drawn in the map. It is recommended that this layer be used at a scale of 250,000 or greater. Please consult with a local CCG office to clarify jurisdictional questions.The regional limits are described in this way:Arctic:The Arctic Regions of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard consist of the Yukon North Slope, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Nunavik, Nunatsiavut, Hudson Bay and James Bay. This boundary includes all of Inuit Nunangat, which was an important principle identified in our engagement with partners.Pacific: British Columbia, Yukon Territory, Alberta, Saskatchewan, ManitobaCentral:Ontario, QuebecAtlantic: New Brunswick , Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador (Not including areas in Labrador designated to the Arctic Region)En 2021, la Garde côtière canadienne (GCC) et Pêches et Océans Canada (MPO) ont mis à jour leurs limites administratives après la création des nouvelles régions de l’Arctique. Il y a maintenant quatre régions administratives au sein de la GCC (Ouest, Arctique, Centre et Atlantique).Les régions de l’Arctique du MPO et de la Garde côtière ont créé ces régions en partenariat avec les personnes qu’elles desservent; cette importante décision permettra de renforcer les programmes et les services afin de mieux répondre aux besoins uniques de nos collectivités de l’Arctique.Les opérations et les travaux de recherche du MPO et de la GCC couvrent les eaux et les terres du Canada jusqu’aux frontières internationales (ZEE) et ne sont en aucun cas restreints aux délimitations tracées sur la carte.Il est recommandé que ce plan soit employé à une échelle de 250 000 ou plus.
